Where is my Shut Down button???

If you’re new on Windows 8, the first thing you notice in your desktop is the omission on the Start Menu (Start Orb).  The Start Menu in the older version of Windows have the Shut down button for you to turn off your PC.  With the new Windows 8, Shutting down your PC is a little bit different, it will take you a bit of time exploring the new OS for you to shut down your PC.  Let me show you how.

The picture below shows a typical Windows 8 desktop, if you notice in the lower left corner there’s no Start orb.  So how can you shut down your PC?

To Shut Down your PC, first, hover point your mouse to the upper right corner of your screen to call your charms (if you are using a touch device swipe your finger at the right edge of your screen).

Click on the Settings charm.

And finally click on the “Power” button to Sleep, Shut down, or Restart your PC.
