The time has come! Either you upgrade or downgrade your operating system. The bi-hourly shutdown of Windows 7 RC will begin on March 1, 2010. If you are still using Windows 7 Release Candidate you should have received an expiration notification in the notification area at the far right of your taskbar which has begun last February 15, 2010. Two days from now, on March 1, 2010, the next stage of expiration will start. An expiration notification will continue to appear plus your PC will start to shutdown every two hours and Windows won’t save your work during shutdown. The doomsday (expiration) of Windows 7 RC will be on June 1, 2010, Windows starts to a black desktop plus a Windows Activation dialog box that says you are running a non-genuine Windows plus the bi-hourly shutdown.
To upgrade your Windows 7 RC version you must have a genuine Windows 7 RTM (final release) disc and do a clean installation. Note: You must backup first your important files as a clean installation won’t save your files, settings, and programs.
If you don’t have the final release of Windows 7, you can reinstall or downgrade to your previous version of Windows (Vista, XP, etc), and again you must back-up your files before downgrading. :)

featuring Windows7ako my fav fanpage!
I couldn’t remember anymore when or how I found this fanpage, but as I recall it was sometime in September 2009 when I’m searching about Wndows 7and poof a link lead me to this facebook fanpage. The fanpage then has fewer than a hundred members and now as per last checking it already has a mind blowing 18,342 fans and getting bigger every single day. Here Pinoys who are Windows 7 users all over the Philippines or even in other countries (students, IT Pros, computer enthusiasts, and PC hobbyists) share their ideas and experiences on Windows 7 (good or bad), others asks for help regarding anything about their PC or how-tos in making their Windows 7 PCs more reliable and productive; others gives assistance by sharing their ideas on how to fix a problem in a PC; and still others are just passing by, looking around and make “makigulo” on the posts and comments in the fanpage.
The fanpage has been my outlet during my stressful days for a lot of the people here are already my friends (not to mention I already met some of them) and they do make me smile in every discussions and posts, and almost everyday I visit the site to post something and see how it goes. At first I never expected to have friends here, I just wanted to become a fan, a passerby and just to monitor the page. My being active in the page was started when some of the fans are asking things about Windows 7 how to like this and how to like that, some sort of things, then I started answering some of their queries, post some new things about Windows 7 that might help other fans, and that’s just it! Now, this fanpage is not just anymore a venue for Windows 7 discussions but also a venue for friendship and camaraderie.
To Microsoft Philippines you’ve done a great job by setting up this fanpage, to Miss windows7ako (whoever you are hehe :) who is always there to give us excitement every now and then, to some of my friends, Keith (li’l bro), Christopher (a certified Windows 7 addict and the fanpage’s techie guy) , Rory (fot the super complete answers), Jeffrey (my patient hehe), Resly (the VP), Manfred (the on and off as wndows7ako said), Nes (thanks for the arc mouse), Francis (for being my company in going to 6750 Ayala avenue during the day of meetup), Miyer (the drummer), Aldwin (the makulit hehe), Justin (the UST techie guy), Tati Bi (Lady Kathrine Rose, her real name and the Muse of the fanpage) and to all others that I was not able to mention, SALAMAT (thank you) for the assistance for my PC probs and for the unending ideas and most of all for the infinitesimal SMILE…

Post Windows 7 Community MeetUp
It’s 11:50 in my computer clock , I just arrived home from the Windows 7 community meetup. I met a lot of cool people there. There’s Francis who was my company going to Microsoft head office at 6750 Ayala avenue, Rory, Nes, Resly, Jeffrey, Aldwin, Manfred, and Miyer to name a few. The event was amazing, full of laughter, games, jokes and a lot of fans who wore RED! The food was good too accompanied by an overflowing beer and iced tea! :)
The program was hosted by the energetic Ms. Chay Mondejar-Saputil and Ralphe Sarmiento (who called himself Lloydie) who never fails to crack a joke! There’s also presentations about some cool features of Windows 7, and guess what, I’m one of the presenters! I discussed the Problem Steps Recorder which was tackled in one of my posts here.
A certificate was also awarded to me, “Going Bananas Award” for being so active in the Windows7ako fanpage the certificate/ plaque comes with 1000.00 worth of gift certificate! Super thanks to the organizers of this event! This was unexpected and I’m really was surprised! Thanks again! And of course the the most awaited raffle prizes was given away to those lucky fans! Congratulations to all of you guys! (I’ll be dreaming about the XBOX 360 and Samsung phone equipped with Windows Mobile and the HP Officejet Printer hehe) You are super lucky and you deserved it! :)
To Miss Liezl Milan, thanks for the lanyard! Finally my patient will stop asking for my lanyard when I’ll give him the lanyard coming form you haha! :)
The event was a successful one and I believe that I speak in behalf of the Windows7ako fans if I’ll say the we will be expecting more events like this!
Congratulations to us all!
Windows 7 rocks!
