@ ---> ie9 is on the Move!

ie9 The successor of Internet Explorer 8 is already available for preview.  Though it’s still in the construction stage, Internet Explorer 9 seems very promising! The said IE9 Platform Preview is aimed at web developers and techie people.

Microsoft’s Dean Hachamovich promised that the IE9 Platform Preview will be updated every 8 weeks.  Counting from now the next update will be in mid-may and the next will be sometime in July.  He however did not mention when will be the finished product will be  made available to the public.

The said Platform Preview will only run on PCs with Windows 7, Windows Vista SP2 and Windows Server R2 platforms.

I just downloaded the IE9 Platform Preview and guess what, it’s just like a skeleton (haha :)) I tried to use it to open an certain webpage and to my amazement it’s very fast in rendering the page considering that the page has lot of graphics to load!  It seems that Google’s browser Chrome has found its worthy opponent! (haha)

Since it’s still in a preview stage, IE 9 lacks numerous features that the IE8 has.  Though it can open and render web pages, there’s no address bar, no user navigation tools, no security features such as the SmartScreen anti-malware filter and of course the favorite InPrivate Browsing

I know that you loved what Microsoft has done to your IE8 with all it’s useful tools and it’s security features, but the preview is just Microsoft’s way to share what have they already accomplished in developing IE8’s successor.  So if your not that super techie, risk taker, and adventurous with your PC, I suggest that you wait until the finished product is ready for you to explore!

Here is the download link for the Internet Explorer 9 Platform Preview.

preview Oh, by the way, downloading and installing the Internet Explorer 9 Platform Preview will not replace the your current IE browser such as the IE7 and IE8 on Windows Vista and Windows 7 respectively.  The Platform Preview will run alongside with your current IE browser.
