Connecting and File Sharing to an Ad Hoc Network

Now that we’re all set and created our ad hoc network let’s do file sharing between two devices, in this case my desktop PC and my notebook.  First let’s verify the network by clicking on the network icon in the taskbar.  Here we can any available wireless networks and of course the ad hoc network that we’ve created with a status that says “Waiting for users” which means that our network is now ready.

Now on the client computer (in this case my notebook) turn on its wireless adapter to connect to the host computer (my desktop pc).  Click the wireless icon to view any available networks and click connect.  On the host computer we cab now see that the client pc or device is connected to the network. You may now start to share your files with the devices that is connected to the ad hoc network.

How about sharing the internet connection with the client PCs or devices? I’ll discuss that on the next part of this article.
