With the release of the MS Office 2010 RTM to TechNet and MSDN subscribers, Microsoft Philippines has another TechNet session called “A Lap Around Microsoft Office 2010.”  In this session Mr. Chester Coronel a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional for Office System has some demos on the new features and improved capabilities of the new Office 2010.

Pictures can now be edited directly in Word 2010 without using third party photo editing software! Data interpretation in Excel 2010 is easier with Sparkline.  No more boring presentations in PowerPoint 2010 with the addition of cool transitions that will amaze your audience!

The Office Web Apps which will be available soon will give you online version of Office 2010’s Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote to edit and modify your document anytime and anywhere as long as you are connected to the cloud!  Document collaboration is now easier as the co-authoring feature will enable you and your colleagues to edit and modify a single document simultaneously.

Files and documents sharing in just a click away, for Office 2010 will enable you to upload your document, spreadsheet, and presentation directly to the cloud so your friends can access it.  For bloggers out there you can use the Word 2010 to create your article and publish it directly to your blog!

Isn’t this amazing? A lot of improvements for our convenience!

The much awaited productivity suite from Microsoft,  the MS Office 2010  suite will be launched on May 12, 2010.  The launching will be held at NBC Studios in New York at 11 a.m. ET.  Keynoting the event will be Microsoft Business Division President Stephen Elop.

Though the launching will take place on the said date, excited consumers will still wait until June to purchase the product at retail.

Simultaneously on May 12, 2010, Microsoft Philippines will join the world in launching MS Office 2010.  There’s no much detail yet as to where it will be held but I’m sure the event will be much similar when Windows 7 was launched last October 22, 2009.

Always Run your Applications as an Administrator

If you’re always right-clicking your applications icon then selecting “Run as administrator.” There are some applications that are written in older version of operating systems which needs administrator privileges.  Games for example that are written for Windows XP will not function and will generate errors if not opened with an Administrator privileges. This tip will be very much useful when running legacy applications that has compatibility issues with Windows 7.  Well here’s a solution for you.

To configure your application to always run as an administrator, follow the steps below.

1.  Pinpoint the application shortcut that you want to always run as an Administrator

2.  Right click the shortcut then click Properties.  The properties dialogue box will appear.

3.  Click the compatibility tab on the Properties dialogue box.

4.  Click the checkbox before the “Run This Program As An Administrator”, this is to apply the setting for the current logged-on user.  If you want to apply the setting to all the users of the PC regardless of which shortcut is used to open that application, click on the “Change settings for all users.”  It will display the Properties dialogue box for the .exe file of that application, click the checkbox before the “Run This Program As An Administrator”, then click OK.

That’s it the you already configured your application to always run in an administrator privileges.
